Supervisors Vote in Favor of Rent Cap in Unincorporated Areas of LA County

"LOS ANGELES (KABC) --The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 on Tuesday in favor of an ordinance to temporarily limit rent increases in unincorporated areas of the county. Tenants' rights advocates rallied outside the Hall of Administration in downtown Los Angeles prior to the supervisors meeting on Tuesday. They were fired up, hoping the board would approve the temporary rent freeze ordinance. Board Chair Sheila Kuehl and Supervisor Hilda Solis came up with the idea to control rent increases in unincorporated L.A. County at 3 percent annually.
